The same contribution support (newspaper, conference room, book, software, etc.) is sometimes recorded several times in ACADEM when teachers’ intellectual contributions are added.
In this case, it is advisable to merge the duplicates, to ensure better processing of the data in the software.
How to merge two media?
1/ Select Data from the menu > Journal > Journals & other medias
2/ Enter the name of the media in the search bar, then launch the search by clicking on the magnifying glass.
ℹ️Enter keywords in inverted “commas” in the search bar to limit the list of results to media whose name contains exactly the keyword(s) you are looking for.

3/ Check the data entered for each duplicate: when merging, it is preferable to remove the duplicate with the fewest data, to keep the one with the most.
4/ Select the support to be merged: click on the red button at the bottom of the ‘x Move to and Remove’ editing window.

5/ Search for the name of the support to be keeped: use inverted “commas” to limit the search results to media that contain exactly the keywords in their title. Tick the ‘Extend search’ box to launch a search of all the media registered in ACADEM.

Select the support to keep from the list of search results > click on Validate.
✅The duplicate line is deleted directly.
The data and contributions attached to the deleted support are now attached to the remaining one.
