Analyse faculty member’s qualifications

Multidimensional Analysis allows you to export filtered data from the ACADEM database for analysis.

Three functions are available in this menu:

  • Analysis of intellectual contributions
  • Analysis of teacher qualifications
  • Ad’Hoc Reporting

Analyses of intellectual contributions and faculty qualifications enable these data to be filtered, and give direct access to their modification.

Ad’Hoc Reporting allows you to create data models, using joins between several tables to combine their data in an unique export.

This article is about analysing faculty member’s qualifications.

See the articles below to :
➡️Analyse Intellectual contributions
➡️Create customised reports with the Ad’Hoc Reporting

This feature allows you to see, at a glance, the qualification levels of all faculty members – by department – at a given date, and to modify them if necessary.
You can also see which qualification rules have been validated or not by each faculty.

ℹ️This is a good way of anticipating the actions that will enable faculty members to improve their score vs. the qualification rules.

Consult faculty member’s qualifications

From the Multidimensional Analysis > Faculties qualifications menu

Various filters are available to launch the qualifications analysis:

  • Set of rules: qualification rules implemented in ACADEM to determine faculties’ qualification scores, with the aim of obtaining accreditation.
  • Qualification: SA/SP/PA or IP for AACSB
  • Main Unit: list of university departments.
The list of university departments is a referential table, filled in from the menu Data > Institution > Institution: Unit > Type of Unit: academic department.
⚠️For users with a DEPT_MGR or DEPT_MGR_RO role, the list of main unit is reduced to the departments for which they have a role.
  • Type of faculty: TYPEFAC referential table (permanent, temporary, affiliated, etc.)
Date: this filter is used to calculate the match between faculty’s data and qualification rules on a given date.

Once the filters have been selected, the faculties’ qualification levels are displayed in an analysis table.
Results are presented by unit, then alphabetically by faculty.

The data is divided into several categories in the analysis table:

  • Current: this is the value set manually in the faculty record, in the Qualification field – irrespective of the faculty’ scores on qualification rules.
Accreditation reports take into account this current value, at a selected date.
  • Computed: faculties’ qualification levels are calculated according to the qualification rules implemented in the solution, and the data entered in their profiles (diplomas, research or teaching activities, etc.).
This calculation is a useful indication of the faculty’s current level of qualification.
  • And rules: a score is calculated from each faculty’s profile, for each rule in the qualification group.
So you can see which faculty validates which rule.
Only the code of the qualification rule is visible on the screen, but when you move the mouse over the column header, the exact wording of the rule is displayed.

⚠️ The qualification rules applied to measure the validation of a qualification level depend on the faculty’s current qualification.
If the faculty is already qualified to a certain current level, the rules for maintaining this qualification level are taken into account in the calculation, instead of the initial qualification rules.
Ex: if the faculty’s current qualification is SA, the SA qualification maintenance rules are applied in the Computed section, to check whether the faculty still validates them.

Table cells are colored for quick data analysis:

  • The light yellow cells identify qualifications that are not applied, in the Current section of the table.
In this section, only one qualification can be validated.
The current qualification level can be modified directly from the analysis table.
  • The ✔️ icon: indicates that the faculty’s qualification is validated.
  • Dark yellow cells: indicate that the qualification rule does not apply to the faculty concerned.
  • Red cells: indicate that the qualification rule has not been validated by the faculty.

Move the mouse over a red cell or ✔️, to consult the score obtained by the teacher for the qualification, or the qualification rule.

By double-clicking on a cell in the table, you can access the faculty’s profile – accreditation tab – and view or modify this data in detail.
⚠️ The reference date selected for the qualifications analysis is not maintained when consulting the profile: it must therefore be adjusted if necessary, to have the same data as in the analysis table.

ℹ️ Exit the faculty’s profile using the Close button at the bottom of the page, to return to the qualifications analysis page.
If you leave the page in any other way (e.g. by going back), you will be redirected to the ACADEM home page.

Export faculties qualifications

From the faculties qualifications analysis, click on the Export Excel button at the bottom of the screen to obtain the table in Excel format.

Export provides a quick overview of teacher qualifications at a given date. As on the ACADEM screen, it shows current faculties qualifications, computed qualifications and whether or not each qualification rule has been validated.

As on the ACADEM screen, the cells are colored for easy understanding and rapid analysis of faculties’ qualifications:

Green cells represent qualifications validated (they correspond to cells with a ✔️ in the table on ACADEM).
Red cells indicate that the criteria or qualifications are not validated.
Yellow cells mean that the qualification or rule is not applicable.

Modify faculties qualifications

faculties’ qualification can be modified directly from the Current section of the analysis table.

This is the qualification level defined manually in the faculty’s profile, which is then taken into account in accreditation reports.

⚠️Only the validation of a qualification is possible from the analysis table.
To invalidate a qualification, go to the faculty’s profile – Accreditation tab – or the FACHISTODETAILS table.

In the faculty’s profile: click on the clock to the right of the validated qualification field, to duplicate, edit the effective date or delete the last recorded modification.
